Todd has been updating pantries and closets a lot lately. Have you noticed your shelves are just a bit too close together to hold the cereal boxes? Would you like a cubby to hold a ladder or a broom? Have you been thinking there has to be a better design than what the builder gave you? We'd love to help. Just fill out our handy dandy form (link in bio) and Todd will come do a free consult to help you come up with the ideal pantry or closet AND once you love the idea, and the quote, we will schedule a time for him to build it. Help your loved ones safely visit this holiday season. Todd has done/redone many stairs and added railings to help with access. If you would like to get railings up before the winter holidays get in touch with us quickly. We have some openings but will be filling up fast. Todd will come and give you a consult, help you procure the railings and install them. But time is getting short, so act now. Use our handy contact form to get started (just contact info and what the job is). Link in bio. One thing Todd has been doing is helping with shelving solutions. Pantry shelves—with thought taken for the size of cereal boxes because weirdly builder shelves are almost always just a tiny bit short. A specific space for a ladder. Adding shelves to kid's closets so they can store longer term items up higher and the child can reach their clothing. A surround for a TV which added storage and gave the TV a specific location. There are so many places where adding some shelving just makes things better. We haven't posted in a while. Todd has been very busy with some really wonderful projects. Here are just a few. Our homes may not have been built as work from home spaces but when there is a will there is a way. This client needed a quiet space for their home office but the front room was open to the family room. And the opening was very tall. By adding not just a French door, but a transom above and casing it out like the rest of the home Todd was able to give the client the private office space they need, keep the hallway light and airy, and make the home so much more inviting. We are as thrilled with the result as the client. This pantry rebuild took the builder pantry to a pantry that worked for the client. They needed to find space for their taller cleaning items, have more shelf space that was easy to scan and find what they needed and they needed some taller spaces for cereal boxes and other tall items. What a fun mudroom! This client has spectacular taste and loves purple. Todd helped the client develop the best mudroom solution for their needs, built the cubbies, shoe holders, and bench and then installed the final product. We think it looks great. And the purple looks great with their modern gray walls. Retreading stairs that used to be carpet. These basement stairs were well used, and the owner really wanted to continue her wood down the stairs. We reset the stair heights, reconsidered the turns, added new treads, risers and moulding. Then on to finishing, staining, painting and now she has stairs to be proud of. If you are interested in getting a quote from Todd, please reach out using our handy form and we will call to schedule a free consult. https://keap.app/contact-us/2315367625619049 Newly updated front porch. The client wanted a porch reminiscent of those they had seen in Savannah improving the home’s curb appeal. Todd researched the architecture and suggested a slight taper to the columns elongating them visually. He sourced new decking which is just gorgeous, and is still composite so will be easy care. They demolished the porch, reinforced the joists, wrapping the supports in the new square column design, and rebuilt the stairs replacing the Truwood which had expanded from water over the years with wood two by twelves. This is a definite upgrade from the builder stairs. The new metal railing opens up the view and the top cap is classical and adds to the southern appeal. We hope the clients love this porch for years. Today’s helpers loved hanging out on the ladder. It's so cold that for the first time since 2020 Todd is NOT wearing shorts today! But in other news, today is an excellent day to check your windows and doors for drafts. Make a note of them, and give us a call. No we can't insulate and caulk in this weather, but we sure can help you prepare for the next time. When we moved into this house, we realized there was no insulation around our basement windows...it was also true of our previous house in Central Park. So go down to your basement and check. Light in your ensuite causing your partner to awaken? The answer may be a barn door. But what to do when the opening is so tall? Enclose the top. Todd installed this beautiful barn door but the opening was enormous so they decided to treat it like a closed transom. It really turned out nicely. Sometimes its the little things that make such a difference. Sometimes the job isn't hard as much as it is height challenging. Installing these three lights really improved this space. The homeowners' taste is impeccable and I'm glad I was able to get them up for them. This client had a nook for their office, but with work from home it became important to upgrade it to a closable office. We removed the columns and replaced them with the cubby shelving, enclosed the arch and framed the space so it integrated into the home. The split pane French doors let in the light while giving the office the privacy and quiet necessary for Zoom calls and just plain thinking. If you see Todd around the 'hood, he drives Celeste the van. Celeste just got her upgraded uniform...hope you like the sign! You can reach us at our website, or using the QR code on the van to get to our Facebook page. The original design of this patio made the spaces tight and hard to access. I opened the area up by removing their unnecessary railing and widening the step to accommodate easy access to make it a fun space to dine and access the yard. Need shade in the day and light at night? We can help. Triangle shade sails are a nice design element and everyone loves the light Edison lights bring to a patio. We can install the posts and help you get your patio space ready for a party. From a "coat closet" to a pantry with shelves which can hold more weight. Todd applied an environmentally friendly recycled material, a new electric fireplace, and a mantle to a focus wall taking a room from everyday to magnificent for the owner and designer. We are really impressed with the owner's vision and are thrilled to have been able to be a part of it. The material is a recycled material called Slateish, made from leftover paper and resin. It is a very modern and timeless look. My client moved into a new house and needed to install her gallery wall. Gallery walls are not as easy as the folks who sell them want you to think. We made sure all of the work aligned enough but not too much and every alley between the frames is the same size. It's like building a slightly off kilter map, while balancing on the stairs. We think their family looks like so much fun and this wall sure shows off the love. Regulation height alley basketball anyone? Todd thrilled two kids and their mom with this full sized backer all hoop set up for alley games. We know whose house will be where all the kids hang out. This homeowner did an amazing job building their workout space. They drywalled, laid the rubber flooring, and painted this amazing color. But when it came to the final details they called us. Todd trimmed it out and built them a show cubby bringing the whole room together. Thank you for trusting us to do that final work on your amazing space. This client wanted a focus wall and brought this idea to us. They purchased their electric fireplace and an amazing tv which shows fine art when not being used. We built the wall using the principles of phi (the golden ratio) to make it pleasing. There is a secret door on the side to access cords and controls. We are really pleased with it. We hope the client is as well. #fireplace #focuswall #beauty #handyman #craftsman #centralparkdenverhomes #letusmakeoneforyou If you have your hardwood floors refinished, you will get beautiful floors, but you probably will find the trim is worse for wear. I'd be happy to come in and get that trim up to snuff and put the final touch on your gorgeous updated spaces. #handyman #trimpainting #paintinglife #cleanedges Working on stabilizing a handrail today. Pulled the bracket of where it had pushed through the drywall. I did not find a framing member, but found whomever installed it put it into a sanitary drain. And since it was plastic, it loosened, repeatedly. Total 7 holes to fill with epoxy. Visited a home today that has had the plumbing system replaced because the original product was recalled after the home was built. I would be simply repainting after the drywall and texture is redone. These things are not what homeowners want to learn about, especially when water is leaking from a corroded PEX fitting. You’d never know this Fort Collins cutie had lost her porch railing when a tree felll on it. We rebuilt it to meet historical standards while offering better support from newly bolted posts. #curbappeal #porch #fortcollinscolorado #historichome #handyman Don’t ‘cha want your brown walls blue? Painting a kids bathroom. We love the color. We also don’t understand why manufacturers don’t put the cure time on the paint can. #bluewalls #bathroomdesign #paintingwalls #handyman From builder closet to built in closet system. This system was purchased by the client and came on two pallets. Once installed the closed went from blah to wow! The last picture is of the original builder closet. #handyman #handymanservices #closetremodel #closet #closetideas #centralparkdenver From an open porch to a porch with a railing and two gates so pups can hang out on the deck. The front gate splits so perfectly it’s hard to see when it’s closed. Todd designed the porch railing to add to the craftsman feel of the home. #handyman #craftsman #porch #gate #dogfriendly #centralparkdenver
